Legacies of Conflict: Britain, United States and Russia

This one-week course, titled Legacies of Conflict: Britain, United States and Russia, explores postgraduate options and covers a range of subjects related to the department’s research interests in war and society. These include the long-term impacts of the Russian Civil War, gender and the First World War, the legacies of the Second World War in Cold War Britain, and the lessons of the Vietnam War in the United States. The course aims to give students an introduction to the study of History at a postgraduate level, as well as to introduce them to current important topics in these research areas.

These sessions are completely free to join and students who register will receive a link enabling them to join the sessions which will be delivered online by Zoom. All students who attend a minimum of four out of the five sessions will, upon request, receive a certificate of attendance once the course concludes.
